I recently found myself in the same position as thousands of other people. I wanted to stream Netflix to my Fire TV Stick, but keep the audio on my phone, so I could listen to the awesome Money Heist without disturbing my partner, who was sleeping beside me.
This problem has been covered a LOT:

So, not being one to shy away from a challenge, I decided to fix my little problem, and share it with the world. Well, at least a few people who find this corner of the internet.
These are all solutions for Android, Netflix and Fire TV Stick. Enjoy!
Stream Netflix video on Amazon Firestick + audio on earphones
The only way to do this is with Bluetooth headphones or earphones. Yes, sadly that is the case. There are no apps or workarounds that will allow you to plug your earphones into your phone, and hear the audio from the streamed video source. It just isn’t possible because of Android’s programming.
Step 1: Purchase Bluetooth earphones
You will need a set of Bluetooth earphones or headphones for this to work. Plugging into your phone with a regular set of earphones using the headphone jack won’t work.
Most Bluetooth earphones & headphones are compatible with a Fire TV Stick, and you can see a selection here: Fire Stick Bluetooth Earphones (UK Amazon).
Step 2: Pair your Bluetooth earphones with Fire TV Stick
- Activate your Bluetooth earphones/headphones.
Put the earphones in pairing mode. - On the Fire TV Stick menu and go to Settings.
- Select “Controller & Bluetooth Device”.
- Choose “Other Bluetooth Device”.
- Select “Add Bluetooth Device”.
- Press OK.
At this point, your earphones should be paired.
You can now stream Netflix to Amazon Fire TV Stick, with audio being sent to your earphones!
